November School Conferences

CJM teachers are looking forward to welcoming our families into the school for November School Conferences. Connecting with families to celebrate and share your child’s learning progress is very important to us. The conference booking system will be open on November 20 at 4:30 pm and will close on November 27 at 11:59pm. If you are not able to attend during these times, please reach out to your child’s teacher to book an in-person or phone call conference on a later date. Please book your conference on-line through your parent MyCBE Account.

Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch

CJM’s School Council would like to let everyone know that fun lunches are back! Please watch for upcoming fun lunch ordering dates. Our first fun lunch is on November 21 and online ordering closes on November 17. We ask that if you do not order fun lunch for your child, please send a lunch in the morning with your child instead of dropping off lunches in the office. The lunch program is a fundraiser for our School Council. All funds raised will support school activities for your children.

McCarthy Uniform Message

Please remind parents that from November 1 to December 16, the E-Stores will not be available for online ordering, and our stores will not be able to process purchases or orders for school embroidered items.

Grade 1 and 2 Telus Spark | December 12

On December 12, our grade 1 and 2 students are attending an off-site activity at the TELUS Spark Science Centre. This off-site activity will support outcomes in the Science curriculum. Grade 1 students will learn about properties of materials while the Grade 2 students will engage in the exploration of light and computer science (coding).  The TELUS Spark Science Center is a purpose-built science center, intended to inspire people to wonder, question and learn. Staff and visitors learn, play and create together. We are looking for volunteers who have their completed Security Clearance for Volunteers to support this trip. If you are available to volunteer, please contact your child’s teacher or call the school. If your child is not in Grade 1 or 2 but you would like to volunteer, please call the school. We always appreciate parents who offer to volunteer!

Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair will be taking place in our Learning Commons during November School Conferences. We are looking for parent volunteers to support Ms. Lall Singh with Book Fair sales. If you are available to volunteer from 4:30-6:00pm or 6:00-7:30pm, please call the office.

Winter Showcase | December 12

On December 12, we are welcoming our CJM families into our school for the evening. This evening is an opportunity for families to visit the classroom and engage with your child while they showcase their learning. In addition to the classroom visits, we will be having mini Winter Showcase performances in the gym for grade 3-6 students and families. Further information will be sent to our Grade 3-6 families with specific performance times so families can arrive a bit early or stay a bit later to visit the classroom. K-2 Spring Showcase performances will be on April 17.

 Sincerely,

Alison Marsters
